Dan DeMuth is the founder and President of Performance in Motion, a company that integrates the principles of awareness education through golf to enable individuals to achieve extraordinary results in life and business. The coaching techniques used by Dan allow his clients to realize success through their ability to generate innovative ways to solve problems and foster better relationships.
Since 1997, Dan DeMuth’s Better Golf, a division of Performance in Motion, has helped scores of individuals discover their own abilities and strengths. This approach allows the individual to gain a greater awareness of their inner thought process and strategic approach to problem solving and finding their own solutions..
Dan’s professional career began in 1986 when he was hired as professional at Sunset Ridge, a prestigious private golf club just outside of Chicago. Working his way using the traditional teaching methods of golf at some of the nation’s best clubs in Massachusetts and California, Dan realized how much they interfered with the individual’s performance and game. He was driven to discover a new way to help golfers learn and enjoy the game.
While Dan became a PGA member in 1992, it was only in 1995 that he discovered through his students and their personal and professional lives simple ways to enhance performance through extensive analysis of his own breakdowns both on and off the course. Dan’s findings about coaching and the game of golf led him to open Dan DeMuth’s Better Golf in 1997.
In the Fall of 2001, Dan received an award from The PGA of America for his work with the Executive Women in Golf. It highlighted his program’s impact not only in their personal life but also in their professional lives and businesses. The overarching benefits of the program inspired Dan to create Performance in Motion to help professionals and businesses take advantage of this unique combination of awareness education and golf to achieve quantum results. Over the past 5 years, Dan has witnessed a wealth of growth in his clients. This growth spans from one client’s ability to go from shooting 118 to under par in the same year, as well as another client seeing her profits increase by 900% within two years.
Dan is a Minnesota native who has been a PGA Teaching Professional for 19 years. His studio is complete with a conference center, boardroom and a virtual course to experience the principles of golf, business and life. In recognition of his innovative approach to coaching and learning, he was named 2005 Minnesota PGA Teacher of the Year. Dan’s clients include both golfers and non-golfers and range from business owners, corporate executives, sales and business development managers, professionals to collegiate and high school students. The one thing they all share in common is their desire to discover their own abilities and strengths.
